Paul García de Oteyza and Caterina Pañeda, creative directors of Oteyza, were in their country house in the Tiétar valley of Spain when they found inspiration for their latest collection. “Some colors there are just stunning,” Pañeda said. “The climbing shrub at our place has a certain orange that just pops, so we just took some of those vibrant tones and threw them into the clothes.” As García de Oteyza points out, Pañeda is the “color magician” of the duo, and this time she decided to go bold with tones such as electric blue, mustard yellow, and indeed bright orange. “You could say this is a more contemporary collection, but not just because of the color. We have also worked with textiles such as neoprene or stretchy fabrics, and we have gone for more minimalist shapes as well,” García de Oteyza said. ....
