Former Caswell County Commissioner facing child sex charges

CASWELL COUNTY, N.C. A former Caswell County Commissioner is facing child sex charges.
The Caswell County Sheriff’s Office requested on August 3, 2020, the State Bureau of Investigation look into allegations against Andrew Sterling Carter who was a Caswell County Commissioner at the time. The allegations included soliciting a minor over the internet.
He was later indicted on five counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of indecent liberties with a child.

CASWELL COUNTY, N.C. A 7-week-old girl is safe following an Amber Alert Thursday night.
The Caswell County Sheriff’s Office said Jupiter Aria Caudle s parents took her while trying to avoid Child Protective Services.
Investigators said Jody Allan Caudle, 42, and Taylor Ann Crawford, 24, abducted the baby from a temporary placement. Deputies said the parents had previously tested positive for meth, heroin and fentanyl. They said the child’s mom was breastfeeding the baby. Investigators learned the couple was with the baby at a motel in Danville, Virginia. Before officers arrived, they left. Hours later, deputies found the parents and the child, unharmed.
An Amber Alert was issued by the Caswell County Sheriffâs Office about a parental abduction of 7-week-old Jupiter Aria Caudle, who was in the custody of her parents, Jody Allan Caudle, age 42 and Taylor Ann Crawford, age 24 at the time of the alert. A description of a vehicle they were operating, a Ford Edge with Virginia tags KN-2520, was also provided in the alert.
At the time of the alert, the Danville Police Department was working with the Caswell County Sheriffâs Office to locate the child.
At approximately 7:18 p.m. Thursday, the Danville Police Department located the parents in the 3000 block of West Main Street. After a brief investigation, the child was located safely and unharmed with the parents. Both parents were taken into custody on unrelated charges. After being cleared by rescue personnel, Jupiter was released to Caswell County Child Protective Services.
