Dean Trantalis sent a letter to the inspector general accusing her of exceeding her scope of authority by investigating whether the former city manager lived in town as required by the city charter.
Greg Chavarria, through his attorney, says a report by the Inspector General saying he didn't live in town is full of inaccuracies. Meantime, Mayor Dean Trantalis wants to remove the residency requirement from the charter, but that needs voter approval.
