The 2023 Homecoming parade will be held on Oct. 20 at 5:30 p.m. before the weekend’s anticipated football game and will close out the week of Homecoming celebrations. The Homecoming parade, a long-held tradition at the University, will be preceded by events such as the Homecoming kickoff event on Oct. 15 and the Homecoming International.

Three Logan County 4-H members were selected as Illinois Scholarship Award winners and were recently honored at the 4-H Celebration of Excellence Awards Program. Caroline Ahrends of Lincoln, daughter of Marty Orris and Les Ahrends, was selected in the Civic Engagement and Global Living award area; Cavit Schempp of Atlanta, son of Darin and Cindy Schempp, was selected in the Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences award area; and Ruthie Ruhl of Mount Pulaski, daughter of Gena Monical Ruhl and Scott Ruhl was selected in the Personal Growth award area.
The Illinois State 4-H Award recognizes exemplary work in nine major areas, including Animal Science, Civic Engagement and Global Living, Creative and Performing Arts and Communications, Food Systems, Healthy Living & Nutrition, Leadership, Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences, Personal Growth, and STEM & Robotics.
