The red, oval DuPont Co. logo, once atop the Brandywine Building and a major part of the skyline in downtown Wilmington, was both a beacon and reminder to residents and visitors about the most prominent company and family in the state.

Schools, buildings, roadways, a major hotel and a country club are some of the other landmarks in the state that bear the du Pont name, although sometimes the company and family name have different capitalizations and spacing.
