Of transition occurred of the Task Force Recommendations under the longterm coordinating council and the longterm coordinating council happily voted to create a Palliative Care work group and committee and now moving the recommendations forward and already we have met i think at least three times, had three meetings. The committee again looking carefully at those recommendations trying to figure out which ones we should be addressing most aggressively for the short of run but trying to Pay Attention to all of the recommendations including the longterm recommendations so were very excited this has transpired and grateful for the support we received from the department of aging and Adult Services and Publi ....

Is making sure that the providers are educated and having the competencies to provide and offer good Palliative Care services and those services are across the continuum and not limited to hos hospice alone but wherever theyre experiencing the service and around the state legislation that is encouraging providers to be more explicit when someone has a terminal illness and know what their Treatment Options are including Palliative Care. Some of the old business i promised to report on the california welfares directors meeting at the last Commission Meeting and they were to meet the day after our council meeting, i dont have a report at this time. We will have one in the may report. Under new business we talked about there are a number of budget initiatives moving forward or in the starting in the budgeting process on behalf of older californians and disabled adults and caregivers and there was a hearing on march 26 and it focused on those variety of areas, Adult Protective Services, ihss, and very definitely the expansion of the ssi and ssp work. They were all addressed. Individual pieces of legislation are being developed along those lines to address those topics as we move through the budget process. Calworks was also one of ....
