Hello. the weather pattern this week is unsettled but it is a week of massive swings in temperatures. we began with ties well into double figures but for some, by tuesday those maximum temperatures dropped by nine celsius and it has been much colder on tuesday, cold enough even for a return of snow. this is carlisle cumbria through tuesday afternoon. most snow lying on the ground was to be found across northern scotland here and the highlands looking beautiful with some sunshine. a cold start to the day on wednesday morning with widespread frost around and following showers we are looking at the risk of icy patches to start the day. it should be fine with plenty of sunshine, frost and ice melting away through the day we could see the cloud thickened through northern ireland. as the band of rain moves in you may see snow for some time on its ....
