Quincy takes 43-0 Homecoming win over Medical Lake

QUINCY The Quincy Jackrabbits turned in a dominating performance at the Homecoming game, defeating the Medical Lake Cardinals 43-0 Friday.

The Jacks were stopped in the first quarter, but scored three times in the second quarter and once in the third to take a commanding lead.

Talking to the team after the game, Quincy coaches pointed out the Jacks will have a chance at the Caribou Trail League title next Friday in Cashmere. Quincy won its first CTL game in at least three years earlier this season.

Coach Russ Elliott said the team has benefited from its players with experience. ....

Jackrabbits fall in OT to Cashmere

QUINCY – It took 87 minutes for a goal to be scored in Thursday’s Caribou Trail League match between Cashmere and Quincy, as the Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead in the second overtime to take down the Jackrabbits.

“They came in, their focus was to control the game,” Quincy coach Patricia Romero said. “I think that it was pretty obvious that they were controlling the game – I told them at the end of the game, ‘That’s just how soccer is. You win some, you lose some.’” . ....

Jacks leap over Warriors

MATTAWA – Tied at two late in the game, Quincy and Wahluke traded multiple shots on goal down the stretch of the final eight minutes before Quincy junior Crystal Vargas broke the tie on a goal in second-half stoppage time to give the Jacks a 3-2 win over Wahluke.

“I felt motivated to win,” Vargas said. “I’m just so excited to play, and I’m happy that we got our first win of the season.” . ....

Jacks advance with come-from-behind win over Omak

QUINCY – An early 2-0 deficit in the top of the third inning wasn’t enough to stop the Jacks on Saturday, as they rallied for a 5-2 win over Omak in the first round of the Caribou Trail League district tournament.

“A win’s always nice,” Quincy Head Coach Seth Longwill said. “Omak’s a team that has been improving a ton. Battling, always bringing us up to our A-game. I’m super proud of the kids. It’s nice to get back out there and win district games at home.” ....
