“We have seen some significant growth on most of our fires of note,” said Ian Meier, executive director of the B.C. Wildfire Service, during a news conference on Thursday.
The winds have also created “very smoky conditions … so getting in and being able to assess the true nature of that growth is what we’re doing right now and making sure we readjust our plans accordingly,” he said. ....
