A new low-barrier shelter is set to open in Oklahoma City, offering much-needed emergency shelter for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
The new City Care Night Shelter is expected to open Tuesday in a former warehouse at 532 N Villa.
Adam Luck, City Care s chief executive officer, said the shelter has 140 beds, including 28 beds for women and 96 for men. He said the total number of available beds includes 16 beds for families located in four family suites.
Luck said the new shelter will open at 4:30 p.m. each day for families and 6 p.m. for individual men and women. The shelter will close at 7 a.m. each day.
