Bringing the COVID-19 vaccine to local neighborhoods: that s what s happening at some pharmacies and smaller clinics, including one in Dauphin County.City residents may not be able to travel to mass vaccination clinics, or they may prefer getting vaccinated at a place they know.That s why Care Discount Pharmacy along Derry Street in Harrisburg is hosting a walk-in clinic Thursday.Pharmacy manager Raj Katla said the clinic is happening, in part, because the state provided an allocation. Pennsylvania is shifting distribution toward local pharmacies and smaller providers.Many of the Care Discount Pharmacy customers use its delivery services, so they re more comfortable getting the vaccine there. They know me over the phone, so they didn t know my face, so today they are coming in and looking at me and saying, Oh, so you are Raj. So, that s really exciting for me.
