Do you remember your family s car from your childhood? My Dad owned several cars over the years of my youth, from station wagons to those large boat-like sedans, to some fairly unreliable clunkers. One car stands out in my mind as being the one from which I draw the fondest memories of time spent with my Dad on the road. That car was a 1966 Ford Mustang. He purchased that car right here in Yakima and even though I was only 4 years old at the time, I ll never forget seeing him drive up in front of the house with this new, sleek, olive green Stang. He put over 200,000 miles on that wonderful 289 engine. A sad end to the story: Other than leaning over from the passenger seat and getting to steer while he lit his cigarette, I never got to drive that car. He sold it a year before I turned 16. ....
