katty. so you have the new york times article comparing brazil with the united states. now, the united states used to come out on top on that comparison, but now they re talking about the reaction of the public to riots against the capitol. the brazilians have allpred predicty come out and said it s a bad thing, we don t want our capitol overrun by rioters for a guy trying to steal the election. here we are shockingly enough, three years later, and you have a large chunk of donald trump s supporters actually supporting the riots, saying that they were you know, they weren t as bad as we re all saying they were, that many were peaceful protests, and that s just a lie. what are they willing to do for this guy who is hoping they lose their retirement accounts over the next 12 months and that the economy goes into a depression so he can get re-elected?
presidential election whereas state legislature could send a slate that doesn t win the popular vote in that state. so democracy reform really has to be at the top of our agenda. when you look at the january 6th investigation, the idea is to figure out what went wrong. who should be held responsible and make sure it doesn t happen again. when you have folks like bannon and meadows refusing to testify, how is it that congress plans on getting the information that they need? it makes it much harder. i have confidence in our chair, bennie thompson, that he will find a way to get the documents he needs. the information he needs, but obviously they re putting up roadblocks, and you identified the key issue. it s not just about accountability which is important. it s about making sure this never happens again. i don t understand how anyone who watched the scenes on television wouldn t be horrified. we looked weak to the world having our capitol overrun.
