One Airlifted As 40 Foot Boat Burns in Wildwood The smoke from a boat fire in Wildwood Saturday morning could be seen for miles on a clear sunny day. The City of Wildwood Fire Department says they were called out to Otten’s Harbor at about 10:30am for a fire. The 40 foot pleasure boat was docked in the 200 block of Dock Street. Wildwood Crest EMS, along with AtlantiCare Paramedics, treated and transported the victim to the Cape May County Armory in Cape May Court House where the patient was transferred to a Medevac helicopter and airlifted to Jefferson University Hospital Burn Center in Philadelphia where the patient is listed in serious condition at this time. Edward Tinsman, 57, of Wildwood was air-lifted from Otten’s Harbor to Jefferson University Hospital Burn Center in Philadelphia. He is currently in serious condition, according to Daniel M. Dunn, Deputy Fire Chief of the Wildwood City Fire Department. Authorities still don’t know what caused the fire to break out on the 40-foot boat at 10:30 a.m. Videos shot by onlookers including Marty Bouchard showed flames completely engulfing the boat and sending a massive plume of dark smoke into the sky. ....
