ASUM senators Noah Durnell and Canyon Lock have been elected ASUM president and vice president by 76% of the student vote. The polls closed on the 2021 election at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, with a voter turnout of 13.4%, a total of 1,268 students. Durnell, a senior, and Lock, a junior, ran their campaign with a focus on creating additional student mental health resources, making the campus more accessible to marginalized demographics and reconnecting the students. They also plan to focus on environmental sustainability. âItâs hard to put into words. The campaign was extremely exciting but truly exhausting at the same time,â said Durnell, who is currently the longest continuously serving senator in ASUM. âBut Iâm so thrilled and honored.
