Brumbies ready to take on a new Force in season opener

THE battle lines have been drawn far and deep behind enemy territory for the ACT Brumbies to hit the ground running for their Super Rugby AU opener of the year. 
Just 10 days after clashing with the same Western Force on home soil at Viking Park amid their only preseason trial, the reigning champions will be looking to give little away against the side that failed to win a game in last year’s return to the Australian domestic season.
The tough one-point loss early on has already indicated the new line-up out west that has included four Argentineans, two All Blacks and an Irish international fullback will be set for the litmus test on Friday night (February 19) in front of their Perth fans. ....

USQ joins mission to help get sick kids back in school


The study has been operating since 2019 under chief investigator Dr Joanna Fardell.
MissingSchool CEO and co-founder Megan Gilmour said the robots were unlike other video conferencing technology on offer.
The research iniative is set to help more Queensland students, similar to students at Canberra’s Marist College.
She said she hoped their efforts would help sick children retain a presence in the classroom.
“[Students] can dial-in to their robot and be seen and heard, take their lessons in real time with their classmates, interact socially, and engage in social activities with their classmates and friends,” Ms Gilmour said.
Robots used for the trial are similar to tablets and can be controlled by an electronic device – from either home or hospital. ....
