A 43-year-old Nevada man awaiting trial on kidnapping, sexual assault and murder charges in the March 2022 killing of a rural teenager has been found dead in his jail cell. Authorities say he apparently killed himself Sunday. Troy Driver was accused of killing 18-year-old Naomi Irion, of Fernley. Prosecutors say Driver shot her and dumped her body in a remote desert area after abducting her from a Walmart parking lot about 30 miles east of Reno on March 12, 2022. The Lyon County sheriff says a deputy found Driver unresponsive in his cell Sunday evening. He faced the death penalty if convicted at a trial scheduled to begin next summer. ....
