“The present ‘movement’ is diaspora-led, fed by the ISI and implicitly supported by some countries, most prominently Canada, for geostrategic reasons and domestic political imperatives.”
Western critics are not seriously discomfited by India killing terrorists at home, or even covertly in Pakistan. What they cannot stand is the killing of Western citizens. They argue that this is unwarranted since there is rule of law in the West. That is laughable for anyone familiar with Khalistani proponents in Canada. In the US, every Irish bar in Boston used to have a collecting box to fund Irish terrorists.
The roots of the present crisis lie much deeper in the political system of Canada. Canadians, however, must remember that every country which has nurtured or protected terrorists in the name of ‘liberal values’ has suffered at the hands of the same terrorists
Of course, this is against the laws that govern international relations but let us not pretend that if after 26/11 India had managed to bump off evil men like Hafiz Saeed in their sanctuaries in Pakistan nobody would have shed a tear.
