Given the urgency to react, colleges and universities should be applauded for their adaptability, innovation and tireless response efforts. That said, many of the existential challenges now facing higher education are not new, and the pandemic has forced institutions to finally reckon with the fundamental issue of the true value of higher education from a student’s perspective.
