An 18-year-old Nelson County High School student was killed Tuesday morning in a crash on Highway 245 in Bardstown, according to Kentucky State Police.
Troopers responded to the crash involving two vehicles about 4 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 245 near Spencer-Mattingly Lane in Bardstown, according to a state police news release.
A preliminary investigation found Draven Greenwell, 18, of Bloomfield, was driving north on Highway 245 when for unknown reasons, his Toyota Matrix crossed the center line into the southbound lane and hit a tractor-trailer head on.
Greenwell was pronounced dead at the scene, according to state police.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured, and a portion of the highway was closed for several hours Tuesday as troopers reconstructed the crash, which remains under investigation, according to Kentucky State Police. ....
