She wowed at an Alabama ‘Idol’ audition, and Aliana Jester’s run isn’t over
Updated 9:05 AM;
Aliana Jester’s “American Idol” story started at a summer 2019 audition in Alabama. Thanks to a “comeback” round airing Monday, it still isn’t over.
Jester, a Florida native, drove over from Fort Walton Beach to Mobile in August 2019 to line up with hundreds of hopeful contestants at the Arthur R. Outlaw Mobile Convention Center, waiting for a chance to sing for preliminary judges in the GulfQuest maritime museum. Once she got there, she didn’t waste the opportunity: Cutting through the noise in a room where multiple singers were auditioning at the same time, she won an ovation from her fellow competitors and got the nod to move on to the next round.
