Patrik Koch, 26, had 12 points in 46 games with HC Vitkovice of the top Czech league this season and four points during the playoffs. Koch especially stood out at the World Championship with Slovakia, recording four points on the top pairing to lead the team in blue-line scoring.

After Shane Bowers took to the ice on February 24th to an empty arena striding, stick-handling, and preparing in his normal warmup routine, he took center ice for the opening faceoff and saw a familiar face across from him. This was not the first time Bowers and Cameron Crotty, a rookie defenseman for the Tucson Roadrunners, had met before, but it was the first time they lined up across from each other. The two had previously been teammates just two years ago at Boston University, where they played side-by-side and put on scarlet and white jerseys. “It s always fun to play against former teammates, Bowers said in the aftermath of a Colorado Eagles 3-1 win, but after the combative tinted visors faded away with the final buzzer, Bowers saw the bigger picture and how the two were now, “chasing the same dream.”

The Seattle Kraken is set to become the National Hockey League’s 32nd team in the 2021–22 season.
Who will skate for Seattle? That will be decided at this summer’s Expansion Draft, an event at which 30 of the NHL’s 31 teams will lose a player to the Kraken.
All NHL teams with one exception must submit a list of players to the Kraken who are protected from being selected by the new expansion team. The Vegas Golden Knights, Seattle’s expansion sibling from 2017, are exempt from the upcoming Expansion Draft.
The NHL is again offering all participating teams two options for their protection lists. Teams can choose either of the following configurations:
