Author and motivational speaker Alvin Day, in a show of gratitude to the hardworking Jamaican teachers who helped him to escape poverty, has gifted all educators employed in the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information (MoEYI) with his transformational book “If Caterpillars Can Fly - So Can I”.
Day made the presentation to the approximately 26,000 public school teachers on Read Across Jamaica Day recently. The donation is valued at approximately US$129,000.00.
“The reason I was able to make it is because of God’s blessings and my teachers. My teachers knew more than I knew. They were respectable and I wanted to be just like them,” the Founder and Executive Director of Global Empowerment Institute said.
