Jack de Belin has sensationally returned to the footy field less than 48 hours after the Director of Public Prosecutions dropped the rape charges against the St George Illawarra star.
The St George Illawarra forward played 44 minutes in his reserve-grade return, with Dragons coach Anthony Griffin to now decide when he will play in the NRL.
The Dragons forward was excused from appearing. I want to know how it is that the decision ⦠seems to have come to the attention of the press, but not the court first, Judge Yehia said. Charges against Callan Sinclair were also dropped. Picture: NCA NewsWire / Gaye Gerard I am not pleased as to how this was leaked to the press. It is a discourtesy to this court to have it leaked to the press before proceedings have taken place in this court. Judge Yehia told the court she did not have time to investigate how the leak happened. Crown Prosecutor Craig Everson told the court Director of Public Prosecutions Lloyd Babb SC did not leak the information.
NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo has vowed that abuse or vilification of Jack de Belin will not be tolerated as the St George Illawarra forward prepares to return
A judge has blow up over leaks which saw a sports reporter publish a story about charges being dropped 20 minutes after the DPP notified de Belin s lawyers on Thursday.
