A program to help fentanyl users replace street drugs with prescription opioids is clashing with a downtown city councillor who wants to see their finanacials.
The block of Rideau Street is one of Ottawa's top crime hot spots, and the community is blaming an invasion of drug traffickers they believe are drawn to legally prescribed opioid medications.
As drug use continues to change, Ottawa Public Health (OPH) is looking for more money and resources to help tackle the city's ongoing opioid crisis, and has outlined those requests in an updated report.
