lisa, what happens now? right. a couple of things happen. first of all we ll get the official announcement as you re talking about, saying that may come tomorrow, discussions under way. as the super committee fails that would trigger across the board cuts of 8 to 9% to most every government agency and those would not go into effect another year. a lot of speculation to whether congress will pull that back. but let s get back to sort of where we are right at this moment. behind the scenes, we have many, several sources republican and democrats, telling us they re planning for the end. but what s interesting, it ted, i want listeners and viewers to pay close attention here, publicly members of the super committee aren t saying that yet. they still have a date day to work out a deal. sounds like they don t want to admit they basically have stopped talking. let s play some sound from the sunday talk shows and listen closely to kind of double messages here. first from a democrat
on coming up with a plan for the deficit. at this hour, things really don t look good. our congressional correspondent kate baldwin is standing by. she s in the capitol building now. kate, congress, washington, missing deadlines becoming all too familiar. where do we stand now? i think we can say, don, at best the super committee is on the brink of failure as talks have all but fallen apart. especially in the last, i would say maybe 24 hours really. the question, the conversation is now kind of how and when the committee is likely to make its formal announce they have failed versus they are near some kind of agreement and could be making an announcement anytime soon. of course there can be a hail mary pass at the 11th 0 hour but with such little time left it seems unlikely the committee will be able to reach any sort of agreement and more likely they have failed. evidence of that, don, just listen to the dramatic shift in tone among committee members themselves. they fanned

hello, everyone you re in the cnn newsroom where the news unfolds live this saturday, november 19th. i m fredricka whitfield. within the hour reno, nevada authorities will let some people go back home. they were evacuated because of a fast-moving wildfire. it s 65% contained. it will be a while before officials know how much damage was done. they think they know how it started. we have been able to rule out two causes. we ve been able to rule out the homeless encampment potential cause and we ve been able to rule out the possibility of teenagers that may have been in the area. we are currently working with nv energy. we believe although this has not been confirmed but we believe the cause of the fire may have been electrical arcing. on capitol hill the deficit cutting super committee has four days to come up with a plan and right now still no deal. the committee must trim more than $1 trillion from the deficit. if there s no deal there could be cuts from sfoed program but
