California Giant Berry Farms has the winter blues blueberries that is with global grower partners reporting peak volumes of organic and conventional blueberry supply for the start of winter season and beyond.
Winter strawberry supplies peaking early in 2021
California Giant Berry Farms’ strawberry growers will start of the year with volumes ramping up in California, Mexico, and Florida.
In Oxnard, California growers are optimistic about their 2020/2021 season which has just begun and the growers are reporting strong quality, shape and sheen says the company. “The new crop looks very promising as far as overall quality and volume,” shared Steve Yamamoto, a fieldsman for California Giant in Oxnard. “We are picking the San Andreas variety and will soon be adding the Frontera variety into the pick rotation.” The volume increase is to come pending any unforeseeable weather events.

California Giant Berry Farm’s 13-week digital fundraiser, Spreading Smiles, has culminated to $40,000 distributed to 13 non-profit organizations throughout the greater Pajaro Valley area.
Due to restrictions around in-person events, California Giant’s annual fundraiser events and other activities throughout the year that support its communities’ non-profits had to be re-imagined.
“California Giant has always been invested in our neighbors. With an emphasis on giving back and putting smiles on the faces who really need it, we were not going to let this year’s new restrictions prevent our fundraising efforts,” said Joe Barsi, president of California Giant Berry Farms.
