After years of success in an array of sports, the Warriors can add boys basketball to all those from track and field, lacrosse, football, soccer, and more. Weddington claimed the N.C. High School Athletic Association 3A boys basketball state championship, its first in program history, by defeating Northwood, 56-47, on Saturday. Providence Grove High School hosted the state title game. It feels great, said Weddington head boys basketball coach Gary Ellington in the postgame press conference.
