The Court on Thursday reserved its verdict on the question of whether it should direct a CBI probe into the allegations of violence and sexual assault in the area.
The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday rejected an application filed by suspended Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Shahjahan Sheikh for anticipatory bail in the multi-crore ration distribution scam case.
The Calcutta High Court declined to urgently hear a plea by TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan, who was arrested last night by the police after he was accused of sexual assault and land-grabbing activities in Sandeshkhali.
Notably, the ED as well as the CBI had on Wednesday told the court that it do not want the West Bengal Police to investigate into the Sandeshkhali incidences.
