Melbourne-inspired Little Rogue Coffee looks set to be the next bright star in the Katong area.
Having worked in many restaurants before, including short stints in Copenhagen at Noma and Restaurant Stud!o, Chef Aaron Leow wanted to change the misconception of cafe food being “usual and boring” in Singapore.
All-Day Breakfast items served from 9am onwards include Breakfast Toast ($12), LRC Breakfast Patatas Bravas ($14), Sourdough Cheese Toastie ($16), Acai Bowl ($12) and House-made Granola Bowl ($12).
There are also vegan options for the last 3 items. Coffee is sourced from Proud Mary by Ballad Of Anna May, if you have cravings for your Australian-style coffee.
Finally, I got to the pub. Twice, actually: once for a family dinner at a gastropub; once for a late afternoon ale at a park pop-up, a brisk wind blowing through the gazebo.
We might have gone sooner, had a pub visit not become so logistically laborious. Mask, check. Warm extra layers, check. Charged mobile for Covid app check-in and hands-free ordering, check.
Oh for those halcyon days when ‘Fancy a cheeky half?’ was the jump-off point to an easeful afternoon.
