MOSES LAKE – This year’s Moses Lake volleyball team built off the strides the 2022 squad made, qualifying for the district playoffs and finishing the year at 8-8.
“Three years ago the girls did not win a match. I can’t even remember if we won a set or two,” Trammell said on the Studio Basin podcast. “Going into last year and winning matches, taking fourth in league and missing districts by one playoff game – that still haunts us – was fantastic. They saw we can do this, that the hard work is paying off.” ....
MOSES LAKE – Despite a late surge, the Moses Lake Mavericks fell 3-1 at home to Davis on Tuesday, the team’s second-straight loss in league play after beginning the year 3-0 in the Big 9.
“We had a good practice (Monday) and watched a lot of film, so we knew what Davis was going to have,” Moses Lake Head Coach Krystal Trammell said. “We felt confident but not overly confident, we don’t overlook anyone. We just had a lot of unforced errors tonight, that’s what it was.” . ....
MOSES LAKE – Coming off a 7-9 season, the Moses Lake volleyball team returns an experienced roster in 2023 with the goal of reaching the 4A State Volleyball Tournament. ....
EAST WENATCHEE – Despite a 5-3 loss to Eastmont in the Columbia Basin Big-Nine district title game on Saturday, the Moses Lake Mavericks rallied with a 9-8 extra-innings win over West Valley (Yakima) later in the day to move on to the 4A state tournament.
“We’re super excited to have qualified for the tournament,” Moses Lake Head Coach Mike Hofheins said. “We feel like we underachieved last year, felt like we should have been there last year and didn’t make that happen. For us to make it happen this year was one of our goals that we have checked off.” ....
