Cafaro Company sues Regal for $2.073M | News, Sports, Jobs

WARREN Landlords representing the Cafaro Co. have sued Regal Cinema for back rent that has not been paid at two Regal locations on Cafaro property, including the Boulevard Centre in Niles.
In lawsuits filed this week in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court, Cafaro landlords Towne Management Co., representing property in Allen County, near Lima, and Boulevard Centre LLC, representing the Niles location, have sued Regal Cinemas Inc. in separate actions, seeking more than $2.073 million.
The lawsuit over the Lima property, which seeks $865,327, has been assigned to Judge Andrew D. Logan; and the Boulevard Centre action, seeking $1.188 million, has been assigned to Judge Peter J. Kontos. ....

Business owners prepare to weather latest round of COVID mitigation measures


Chris Sirianni, owner of The Brewerie at Union Station, said he was feeling frustrated, disappointed and heartbroken for his staff.
About 45 full-time and part-time employees were on Sirianni s payroll Thursday at the popular downtown Erie restaurant at 123 W. 14th St.
Sirianni estimates he will likely lay off about 35 employees on Friday in response to the latest temporary state COVID-19 mitigation guidelines outlined Thursday by Gov. Tom Wolf.
In an effort to curb the surging spread of COVID-19, Wolf announced that indoor dining at restaurants, taverns, breweries, wineries, distilleries, social clubs and private catered events is prohibited for the next three weeks.  ....
