TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State’s Charlotte Heath, Lottie Woad, and Frederik Kjettrup have been named to the International Team for the 27th Annual Arnold Palmer Cup matches at the Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pa., June 8-10, 2023. The Ryder Cup-style competition features men’s and women’s collegiate golfers from the United States versus their International counterparts. Heath and Woad, who both played in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur in March of 2023, will make their first career appearances in the Palmer Cup. Kjettrup is making his second consecutive appearance in the Palmer Cup. The Arnold Palmer Cup was co-founded by Arnold Palmer and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) and began in 1997. The event features the top ranked men’s and women’s university/college golfers. CABO, Mexico – Junior Frederik Kjettrup finished another strong performance by shooting a final-round 67 at Twin Dolphin Club on Tuesday. The native of Denmark moved up six spots in the final round to tie for second overall at the Cabo Collegiate Invitational, finishing 5-under (72-69-67). Kjettrup recorded an eagle on the par-5, 593-yard first hole, which was also eagled by teammate Cole Anderson earlier in the tournament. He added six more birdies on Tuesday, tallying 15 birdies over his three rounds played. Kjettrup has consecutive Top-2 finishes to begin his spring season, winning the Watersound Invitational and tying for second in Cabo. The junior was honored as the ACC Golfer of the Month on Monday. CABO, Mexico – Junior Frederik Kjettrup of the ninth-ranked Florida State Men’s Golf team delivered a 2-under 69 in the second round of the Cabo Collegiate Invitational at Twin Dolphin’s Club on Monday. The Denmark native is tied for eighth in the field at 1-under overall (72-69), improving by three strokes from Sunday. Kjettrup recorded his fourth round in the 60s this spring season in five rounds played, one of 14 golfers to shoot in the 60s in a second round that was a bit more forgiving than the first. The Seminoles improved by two spots up to sixth place through two rounds of play, shooting 1-over as a team on Monday. FSU is 11-over for the tournament. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Frederik Kjettrup and Brett Roberts of Florida State Men’s Golf were selected as PING Honorable Mention All-Americans, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Kjettrup becomes the 35th All-American in Florida State Men’s Golf history, while Roberts repeats the feat from his freshman year in 2020-21. Roberts becomes the 12th men’s golfer at Florida State to earn All-America honors in multiple years.
