Daily Trust reports that it was jubilation galore for workers of the airline when they got an increase in last month’s salaries. The excited workers could not hide their joy as they embraced the Chairman and CEO of the airline, Allen Onyema, when he arrived at the domestic terminal of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on Friday. The workers said they could not believe the salary increase at a time most companies are even laying off staff. The Cabin Services Manager, Florence Opiah, said the workers of the airline were excited because it was not expected. Clare FM 27th May 2021 A Cabin Services Manager at Shannon Airport believes the facility could become a ‘mothball’ with government intervention into Aer Lingus closing its crew base there. The Oireachtas Transport Committee, which includes several Clare representatives, has heard from cabin staff at the airport who are set to lose their jobs on account of the move. Gerry Clarke has told the Committee that he’s fearful the removal of Aer Lingus’ Shannon cabin crew base will lead to no early morning flights there, including the Heathrow route.
