In los angeles county, an out of control wildfire in Santa Clarita has grown to 4 square miles and is being blamed for one death. Authorities say the fire burned through 18 homes and now is threatening 1500 others. Mandatory evacuation orders are in place for communities near the firelines. A mans body was found in a burned out car. That fire is just 10 contained. Today, calfirefire expanded mandatory evacuation orders because of wildfire burning near big sur in monterey county. The blaze erupted friday morning and is now burned at least 16 square miles. Firefighters say 1600 structures are threatened and that fire is just five percent contained. Last we heard from firefighters, 50 acres have burned and you can see the charred hillside. Crews have been using heavy equipment to build a containment line. This chp had to top traffic on Franklin Canyon road because of downed power lines. Its unclear if the power lines caused the fire or came down because of the fire. Crews are making progress. Flames are now fully contained on the north site. Fire on the south site is 35 contained. Firefighters say structures are threatened. This is a rural area so there are horses, other animals, barns and other outbuildings in the fires path as well as homes. At this point no confirmed reports of any damage to structures.
