After a national search that brought to campus last month a parade of finalists from across the country, Iowa State University this week announced Mississippi State University College of Engineering Dean Jason Keith will serve as its new provost.
The search has begun for the next senior vice president and provost, a role left open after Jonathan Wickert stepped down after 12 years, the longest in school history. A candidate nomination form is available, with a review of materials happening immediately. The form asks members of the Iowa State community to submit a recommendation.
Iowa State’s longest-serving provost has announced he will step down from the position, effective June 30. Senior Vice President and Provost Jonathan Wickert will remain at Iowa State, serving as the president’s chairman in engineering and remaining a professor of mechanical engineering. “Being provost is a profound responsibility and an amazing experience, and I’ve enjoyed.
