Keswick campsite extension plans given green light

Plans to expand a campsite, with individual camping pods created on the land, have been given the go-ahead.
The proposal was lodged with the Lake District National Park planning authority back in December, outlining hopes to change the use of land surrounding Burns Farm Caravan and Campsite from agricultural to camping.
And with the plans being approved with conditions, up to 20 camping pods are set to be built at the extended Keswick site. ....

Plans to extend Keswick campsite have been lodged

Plans to expand a camp site and create individual camping pods have been lodged.
Burns Farm Caravan and Campsite has submitted the proposal to the Lake District National Park planning authority, outlining hopes to change the use of surrounding land from agricultural to camping.
If the plans are approved, the Keswick site would see camping pods installed.
They would range in size, and all be made from lightweight timber, finished with timber cladding.
In the design and access statement, Burns Farm said: 2020 has been a very challenging year for the holiday and tourist accommodation providers[.]
The requested extensions to an established holiday facility provider is presented as a method of future planning to provide further trading benefits that are likely to be required to maintain the viability of the business. ....
