Queensland will NOT offer AstraZeneca jabs in mass-vaccination hubs


Queensland will not set up a mass vaccination hub to administer the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine to over 50s, the state government has announced. 
Instead the state will wait until more Pfizer doses are delivered towards the end of the year before considering hubs similar to those in New South Wales and Victoria.
AstraZeneca doses are still being administered in Queensland via GPs to people over 50. 
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said planning was under way for a mass hub towards the end of the year.
Queensland is a big state, it is so decentralised, that so much planning is happening at the moment for that final quarter of the year, when we have more supply in Pfizer, Moderna it is going to ramp up, she said. ....

Three more Australia blood clot cases believed to be linked to AstraZeneca vaccine

The three new cases of TTS increase the total number in Australia to six - all believed to be linked to the AstraZeneca vaccination.
Two of the new cases are believed to be treatable after being detected very early by the treating health professionals , according to the TGA.  
The TGA said the third case came nearly a month after receiving the jab, a diagnosis the TGA say is unusually late . 
Five of the six cases have occurred in people aged under 50, and all were vaccinated before the federal government announced the Pfizer vaccine was the recommended shot for people under 50. ....
