Burlington, IA- The Burlington Fire Department will be holding a processional in honor of a long-time Burlington Firefighter who passed away on March 23rd. Burlington Firefighter Ky Duttlinger passed away from job-related cancer on March 23, 2023. A memorial service will be held at Burlington Community High School, Carl Johanssen Gymnasium, at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 1, 2023. Beginning at about 10:30 AM Saturday, members of the Burlington Fire Department will be conducting a processional from Central Fire Station to Burlington High School, passing by many of Duttlinger's favorite places. A map of the route can be found on the Burlington Fire Department's Facebook page. Community members not attending the memorial service but wishing to honor Firefighter Duttlinger are encouraged to line the route. Burlington, IA- A longtime Burlington Firefighter and union leader has passed away. Burlington Firefighters local 301 on Friday, March 24th announced the passing of Ky Duttlinger. Duttlinger served as a Burlington firefighter for over 25 years, as well as president of the Local 301 Union. In an online post, the Local 301 union stated "There is no doubt he has positively influenced thousands of lives both locally and across the State of Iowa." According to his obituary, the remembrance ceremony for Duttlinger will be held 11 AM Saturday, April 1st at Burlington High School. Any uniformed personnel are asked to gather at BHS at 10 AM. A private burial will be held in Keswick, Iowa at a later date. ....
