Speaking to reporters, authorities said state and federal investigators matched DNA from the scene of the explosion to items collected from Warner and his relatives. Douglas Korenski, special agent in charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Memphis field office, said investigators also matched an identification number from an RV that officials say blew up to a vehicle registered by Warner.

Officials said DNA from the scene was matched to Mr. Warner, who had previously been identified as a person of interest in the attack. A vehicle identification number from the RV that exploded was also matched to one registered to him. “We’ve come to the conclusion that an individual named Anthony Warner is the bomber, that he was present when the bomb went off, and that he perished in the bombing,” Donald Cochran, U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee, said at a press conference Sunday.

Anthony Warner is the man believed to be responsible for this horrible crime, Metropolitan Nashville Police Chief John Drake said at a news conference. There was also other evidence linked back to the suspect. Korenski further explained that the surveillance video attained by investigators displayed that no one else was seen walking around the vehicle at the time of the blast. U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee, Donald Q. Cochran, added that Warner was present when the bomb detonated and died on the Nashville explosion spot.
