Date Time New city clinic to boost WA vaccinations A central COVID-19 vaccination clinic will open at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC) this Sunday following the arrival of 21,000 doses of the Oxford/Astra Zeneca vaccine. WA Health’s PCEC clinic will add significant capacity to the State’s vaccination program, complementing clinics already operating at Perth Children’s Hospital, Royal Perth Hospital, Fiona Stanley Hospital and Bunbury Health Campus. Clinics at further hospital and health campus sites will be opening up next week. Staffed by around 40 nurses, pharmacists and medical administrators, the PCEC clinic will be open between 9am and 3pm on Sunday and into next week (times to be advised). ....
Date Time Push for life saving Bunbury Hospital stroke unit Stroke Foundation is urging the next Western Australia state government to invest in a stroke unit at Bunbury Regional Hospital to save lives and improve outcomes from stroke. A dedicated stroke unit at the new hospital is one of three key actions in Stroke Foundation’s Western Australia Election Platform Step up for stroke. These actions would strengthen the state’s treatment, care and prevention measures, by building on the recent expansion of the WA Telestroke Service and targeted community education. Date Time WA marks first week of vaccination Western Australia’s COVID-19 vaccination program has got off to a strong start, with more than 2,800 frontline workers receiving their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine this week. WA’s Chief Health Officer (CHO) Dr Andy Robertson getting his COVID-19 jab today. As well as being the CHO, Dr Robertson is a frontline medic – part of the Western Australian Medical Assistance Team (AUSMAT WA) which deploys to provide health support at disaster sites – often at very short notice. Vaccinations began within 24 hours of WA taking delivery of its first batch of vaccine. ....

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack said the Priority List seamlessly couples with Australia’s infrastructure-led economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. “The Priority List drew on 124 new submissions received since the last edition’s release in August 2020, highlighting a $59 billion pipeline of investments for nationally significant priorities across a range of sectors including transport, energy, water, communications, housing and education,” the Deputy Prime Minister said. ....
