Country spelling out what the catastrophic consequences could have been to america s supply chain and economy had the strike gone through. i spoke to an oil and gas distributor yesterday if you thought gas prices were high in recent months they would have been sky high because of a strike. and one chemical distributor telling me waste water plants would be having a hard time getting the chemicals to clean america s water supply. and one building material company telling me supplies are already tighted, supplies limited, so if you were involved in construction in any way, prices were going to increase dramatically. so the fact they were able to divert the strike is good news for the american economy. amtrak had already cancelled some of the longer routes. have there been any disruptions when it comes to distribution and wholesale? ....

In 1946, two attorneys finalized their purchase of a historic church building in the heart of Washington.
[1] For seventy years, Saint Augustine Catholic Church at 15
th and L was the place where the Black Catholics of the District were baptized, educated, given communion, and buried. In two years, it would be rubble.
At its founding in 1858, the church then known as Blessed Martin de Porres established the first school for Black children in the District of Columbia.
[2] Operating out of the basement of St. Matthew’s Cathedral, the free Black Catholics of Martin de Porres sought to create a church of their own that would meet the needs of the Black community and grant them the dignity that was afforded to their white counterparts. ....
