Newsbook HSBC Malta is supporting JAYE Maltaâs course titled âBuilding a Financially Capable Generationâ HSBC Bank Malta is supporting JAYE Maltaâs âBuilding a Financially Capable Generationâ course, a new and innovative programme which provides young teenagers with practical information to help them understand finance. This initiative is part of a global collaboration between HSBC and JA Worldwide to increase awareness of financial literacy, financial capability, and their differences. In Malta the sessions are being delivered by 15 specially trained volunteers from among HSBC Maltaâs employees. Caroline Buhagiar Klass, Head of Human Resources and Corporate Sustainability at HSBC, said: âFinancial literacy is important because it equips people with the skills and knowledge needed to manage finances effectively. Newsbook Tista taqra bil- The HSBC Malta Foundation has donated â¬5,000 to Fondazzjoni Sebħ to help it provide psychological assistance to children and adults recovering from multiple traumas.  Such help forms an integral part of an array of services provided by Fondazzjoni Sebħ aimed at establishing a nurturing environment that promotes emotional growth and resilience so people can reach their full potential, regardless of the challenges and difficulties they may be facing. Currently, Fondazzjoni Sebħ is offering care to 37 children who live in residential care in a safe, loving and nurturing environment, and to 7 women and their children in the residential shelter and after care service, for survivors of domestic violence. ....
The HSBC Malta Foundation has sponsored a Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) award which was presented to St Joseph Senior School, Sliema, for an article investigating the issue of food waste in households. The article focuses on how food waste is generated, handled and stored in households, and how the whole supply chain affects this global challenge. The award-winning piece also discusses recipes for using left-over food for consumption instead of being wasted. In her article, Emma Manicaro emphasises the importance of reducing food waste by taking three simple steps: storing food correctly as improper storage leads to premature rotting, using preservation methods such as pickling to extend the shelf life of food and composting organic materials that can be used as fertiliser to grow plants.
