When Kriner Cash resigned in March, Tonja Williams was moved up to run the school system, with the title of interim superintendent. Now, the school has removed the "interim" and Williams has the job.
McKinley High School will stay remote through the end of the February break following last week’s violence that hospitalized a student and security guard. Meanwhile, Wednesday night’s Buffalo Public Schools Board of Education meeting stressed the violence is not limited to McKinley.
Buffalo Police say a student and a security guard were both shot at McKinley High School late Wednesday afternoon. The guard's injuries are relatively minor, the student however is undergoing surgery with few concrete details being released.
'It's a very serious matter. It continues to be a serious matter and we want to do all we can to protect our children and staff at this time,' Dr. Kriner Cash said.
