The annual San Diego Bird Festival, hosted by the San Diego Audubon Society, lands Feb. 21 through 25, with nearly 200 activities planned across the county, including speakers, field trips and tips for home gardens.
A century-long tradition that started as a bird hunt now helps track valuable bird sightings. The Christmas Bird Count put on by the National Audubon Society covers the country. The next birding events are being held in North San Diego County.
