Keep hearing out of republicans, the cbo almost always gets things wrong. it s not factual. they get some right and some wrong. cbo is going to be wrong in circumstances like this. they are most important when the congress is doing something new and innovative. the senate bill has innovative features. cbo has little history on which to base their projections. if you run the clock forward, it is inevitable they will be wrong. the question is whether they are bias. they try to put their estimate in the middle. it s likely to be too high as too low. cbo operates under special handcuffs. they have to compare to current law. so, in the case of medicaid, that means they have to assume that it will be costful to plow enough taxpayer money into it to have that program survive. i think it s highly questionable. if you look at cbo s budget ....
