At the last budget workshop meeting held on May 13, councilors voiced their support for a half-mill rate increase, with the intention to hold an official vote on the budget May 25. “Our goal, generally, is for a half-mill increase,” Chairman Rob Oris said. “We know our taxpayers really cannot afford anything more than that. We had a zero mill increase last year — with everything going on, we felt that was really the strike-zone for all of us.”
