FM needs to provide some relief measures in terms of Capital Gains Tax which may give more legs to the stock market rally. Here are a few points how it can be tweaked to be investor friendly

Capital gain tax is charged at the time of sale of a capital asset on the amount of capital gain. Capital gain can be either long term or short term on the basis of the holding period.
In the coming Budget, the holding period for long-term capital assets, which is presently 36 months should be reduced to 24 or 12 months so that maximum taxpayers can take the benefit of long-term capital gain by holding the capital asset for a shorter span of 24 or 12 months as the case may be.  ....

India is considering hiking import duties by 5%-10% on more than 50 items including smartphones, electronic components and appliances in the upcoming budget, three government sources privy to the discussions told Reuters on Monday.
The move to increase import duties is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi s self-reliant India campaign that aims to promote and support domestic manufacturing, said the sources, who asked not to be named as the discussions are not public. ....

Naredco seeks hike in deduction on home loan interest to Rs 5 lakh in upcoming Budget

New Delhi: Realtors body Naredco on Thursday urged the government to hike deduction on home loan interest to Rs 5 lakh from Rs 2 lakh limit at present and re-introduce subvention scheme in the upcoming Budget to boost sales of residential properties and create housing revolution.
The association also sought incentives for rental housing and more stress funds to help complete distressed and stalled projects.

The reforms like demonetisation and realty law RERA as well as the liquidity challenges in the NBFCs post-IL&FS crisis hit demand. Pandemic-hit tourism & hospitality sector looks forward for fair deal in Budget

New Delhi: Pinning its hopes on the upcoming Union Budget, the tourism and hospitality sector has made several recommendations to the government to help it emerge from the impact of COVID-19 crisis.
To ensure that there is a shared tourism vision across the Centre and states, industry has also proposed creation of a National Tourism Council of Chief Ministers headed by the Prime Minister along with the tourism minister, Federation of Associations in Indian Tourism and Hospitality (FAITH) said in a statement. ....
