Jahangir Tareen to vote for Imran Khan during budget: Sheikh Rasheed

RAWALPINDI: Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed on Wednesday said Jahangir Tareen, who announced a like-minded parliamentary group within PTI, will vote in favour of Prime Minister Imran Khan during budget 2021-22, ARY NEWS reported.
While reviewing development works at a hospital in Rawalpindi along with SAPM on Health Dr. Faisal Sultan, the interior minister said that small arguments and disagreements occur within parties, however, he was sure that Jahangir Tareen will vote for Imran Khan during the budget.
“This is not even a thing to be discussed or given importance as it occurs regularly within parties,” he said.
He said that the prime minister’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia has remained successful and the country has never before witnessed better relations with the Kingdom. ....

Govt to splash $1.3B on tech and regional connectivity

The federal government is planning to spend nearly $1.2 billion on its Digital Economy Strategy and $130.4 million for improved regional connectivity as part of the upcoming 2021-22 Budget. 
Scheduled to be released in its entirety from 11 May in the approaching Budget, the strategy is broadly set to offer investment towards emerging technologies, building digital skills, encouraging business investment opportunities and upgrading government service delivery. 
Headlining the technology spend is expected to be over $500 million for government services enhancements, with $301.8 million to go towards My Health Record and the expansion of the digital identity system and $200.1 million to overhaul the online government services portal myGov.   ....

ISLAMABAD: Prof. Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman, Chairman Prime Minister’s Task Force on Science and Technology, has stated that national education emergency is need of the hour and recommended an increase in allocation to education by federal and provincial governments by 0.5% of GDP annually till it reaches 5.0% of GDP over next 5 years.

Under the Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN), which will complete four years this year, as many as 325 routes and 56 airports have been operationalised till now. These include five heliports and two water aerodromes
