BUCYRUS - As the Bucyrus Fire Department begins the process of expanding its staff to be able to provide EMS service within the city, some additional training will be needed, the fire chief told members of the Bucyrus City Council Finance Committee on Tuesday.
At a special committee meeting, Service-Safety Director Jeff Wagner said some of his department s new hires will need additional training that wasn t included in his department s original budget for the year.
The department is in the process of hiring three employees to be ready to take over ambulance service within the city when the Central Joint Ambulance Service s contract with Portsmouth Emergency Ambulance expires at the end of October or sooner is necessary, fire Chief Chad Schwemley said.
